This workshop explores the pedagogic and curricular implications of the Travelling Concepts research strand. Using as a case study the innovative first-year Global Iberias core course at King’s College London, we discuss how our research might reshape the teaching of Spanish and Portuguese from a global and transnational perspective. Rather than linear national traditions, we focus on cultural exchange, alternate histories, and the work done by language in shaping and contesting identities. We ask what might be the most appropriate pedagogical resources and approaches for a first-year university curriculum and the transition from A level.
